The boundary matters more than the brand. AI is useful when a wrong answer is visible and reversible. It deserves much more caution when a mistake could affect health, money, rights, safety, employment, or another person.
I would rather finish this week with one boring workflow I trust than seven impressive demos I cannot explain. That preference shapes the whole routine. Save the prompt, first response, and one correction. A useful correction names the fault.
The source says the setting may be unavailable on older devices. Restore that limitation and remove the unsupported sentence about battery life.
“Make it better” teaches both of you very little.
Day 2: Turn Your Notes Into a Useful Shape
Use notes you wrote yourself. They could be a packing list, ideas for a room, or a rough agenda. Ask the assistant to organize rather than decide.
Group these notes into “Do Today,” “Decide Later,” and “Missing Information.” Preserve my wording for dates and names. Do not assign priorities I did not state.

Open each URL after receiving the table. Confirm that the page exists, the wording is current, and the row did not stretch a vague sentence into a guarantee.
This is where search-enabled AI can help, but a linked page is still evidence to inspect. Search results can be stale. A source can be real and fail to support the sentence attached to it. The assistant can organize the comparison; you own the final read.
Avoid starting with an expensive or irreversible purchase. Compare something where delaying the decision costs little.
Day 6: Make a Checklist From Instructions
Find a trustworthy procedure you already plan to follow. Ask the AI to turn it into a checklist without changing the order or warnings.

I would not let a general assistant independently diagnose a symptom, decide whether to sign a contract, choose an investment, evaluate a person for a job, send a disciplinary message, make a payment, publish an accusation, or delete an account. Which Jobs Will AI Never Replace?
